Reducing fuel use and lowering household pollution

● The project focuses on providing more energy efficient cookstoves to domestic households

● Lack of affordable energy has led to firewood being the primary household fuel

● This causes severe forest degradation as well as Household Air Pollution (HAP), the third leading risk factor for ill health in Nepal

● The stoves reduce fuel use and lower household pollution

● They also save families valuable time previously spent collecting firewood, increasing economic opportunities and income

● The project specifically helps the underrepresented, with an additional focus on women, enabling them to develop entrepreneurial skills and helping them be part of the social dialogue

● 58,000 credits are generated each year

● The project is certified under the Gold Standard and the current crediting period started in 2017
